Angela says her family of 3 kids and 3 fur babies is loud, full of life, and she wouldn’t have it any other way!.
Angela loves hiking, camping and gardening as well as other outdoor activities. “I am completely addicted to OrangeTheory and tea is my love language. I am a home cooking enthusiast. Virtually everything I make is from scratch and I take great pride in it. Cooking relaxes me and I feel a sense of purpose in providing nourishing meals for my family. Don't tell anyone, but my hidden talent is singing. I never do it in public, but I've got some pipes :) 70's, 80's and 90's music is my favorite and I love a good band T-shirt,” she explains.
She says she has been passionate about leadership in her community, serving others through holistic healing and living sustainably for as long as she can remember. She says “I was born with an insatiable need to help others meet their goals and achieve their dreams.”
Angela received her training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where she studied a variety of dietary theories and practical lifestyle coaching methods.
As a holistic health and nutrition coach, she uses her knowledge to co-create completely personalized action plans based on client goals.
Although she owns her own business now, that wasn’t always a part of her plan. “Being my own boss and creating my own path always seemed just out of reach for me. I spent 14 years as a manager at a “Big Box” retailer. I spent countless nights, weekends and holidays away from my family all while carrying the weight of a toxic marriage. I had completely lost who I was. I wandered aimlessly through my life. I felt helpless, angry and trapped with no way out. My day-to-day work was soul-draining and left me feeling empty inside. The only joy I felt was in the minimal amount of time I was able to guide and mentor my employees. The relationships I fostered with them while helping them grow personally and professionally solidified my dream of leading people to walk their own path to success. It was then that I knew it was time to listen to my heart and pursue my passion.”
She then began to work to learn about herself and how to nurture her body, mind, and spirit.
She discovered doTERRA essential oils and began to learn as much as she could about reducing toxins in her life,, preventative health care, reducing inflammation, using plants as medicine, and living a holistic lifestyle. “Through that, I not only found myself, but I learned to love myself again. I left my toxic marriage, became the kind of mom I wanted to be and found love in the most unexpected place,” she explains.
Angela says there are multiple people in her life that have inspired her. “If I had to pick just one, it would be my Granny. She is the epitome of strength, determination and grace. My Granny grew up the child of Italian parents in Chicago with 5 brothers and sisters. She married a man who was completely absent and unfaithful. In her 30's, with no formal education and 5 children of her own, she set out on a course to completely change her entire existence. She got a great job, put herself through school (all the way through a master's program), cared for her children, provided a safe haven for her grandchildren and showed us that there is nothing a single mother cannot do. She has undergone brain and back surgery all within the last year. Life is not without hardship. But, that does not mean it isn't worth living.”
Although launching a new business during a global pandemic has been challenging, she’s excited to share her knowledge and help others.. “Finding leads and starting conversations when people are home-bound has definitely been difficult! Also, I am juggling two businesses. So, finding a way to blend the two in a way that fits who I am and what I want to show to the world has been hard.”
Despite the challenges, she loves owning her time after spending 14 years working 60+ hour weeks in a retail environment. “I was NEVER home and missed so much of my family. Being able to be home for dinner, have consistent days off and take care of my kids is pretty awesome. My first holiday season outside of retail is coming up and my level of excitement cannot even be put into words.”
She would tell a new business owner to remember that perfection does not exist. “lt never be the perfect time, the perfect circumstances nor will the answers reveal themselves perfectly. The best thing you can do for yourself is believe in who you are and what you're capable of. When you're afraid, do it anyway. When you feel alone, do it anyway. When you're discouraged, do it anyway. You HAVE to show up for yourself consistently in order to create and grow your business. Create positive affirmations and say them to yourself over and over. YES, this works. Put good, whole foods into your body as much as you possibly can and take care of your mind + soul. Thriving in life and business takes balance, time and effort. Give yourself grace, fail forward and never stop grinding.”
When things are challenging she remembers her “why”. “I know with certainty that I am on my divine path. I am living in my zone of genius. I knew as a child that I wanted to work for myself. However, I never knew just what it was that I'd be doing. I look at my kids and I do it for them. I do it for pride in myself. I do it to show the world that I will not fail, even when others point and laugh at me. I do it because I am genuinely fulfilled in helping other women release resentment, reclaim their power and rewrite their stories.”
Angela says joining the MOB has been an eye opener for her. “Society sort of breeds competition and scarcity into our minds as women. The women here are SO accepting of everyone. There are all kinds of people, from all walks of life. You get to engage with women you'd never have met otherwise. You get support during your times of struggle. You can ask for help without being judged. Women supporting women is totally life changing,” she explains.
Her favorite MOB Alliance benefit is the community itself. “I love that the Alliance allows you to have your information in a directory, your meet-up fees are included and the community of women is tight-knit but always willing to accept and help someone new. People genuinely want you to succeed and really do try to support you in any way they can.”
Her ideal referrals are women between the ages of 25-45 who are seeking a piece of themselves that has been lost or taken from them. They want to move past resentment and anger from their previous experiences. These women are ready to be empowered and want to rewrite their stories.
Angela’s MOB Alliance offer is a free 60 minute session added on to their 90 day package.
