Elyse is mom to a two-year old son, a world traveler, a realtor with Summa Real Estate, and a Mary Kay representative.

She was bitten by the travel bug from a young age and has visited 17 countries in Asia. “I have traveled to 42 states and 31 countries. My goal was to travel to all 50 states by the time I was 30, but I moved to China for three years when I was 28,” she explains.

In addition to travel, she has always had a passion for real estate, and loved watching House Hunters and other home renovation shows that sparked her imagination after college.

She took the first steps to entering the real estate business when her son just shy of seven months old by having coffee with two mentors in the Portland real estate market. She also attends weekly meetings with Summa Real Estate Executives.

“I had no idea the struggles I would face as a first time nursing mother trying to complete my online real estate courses and balancing my Mary Kay business while being an intern to my mentor,” she says
Although Elyse joined Mary Kay in order to create an income to pay for her real estate courses, license, and start up fees.  “Now that I am a licensed Real Estate Broker, I am getting referrals from both businesses,” she says.
 
She names having two clients under contract within three weeks of getting her real estate license, and developing a strong client base with my Mary Kay business as two of her biggest accomplishments.

Like many moms, Elyse struggles with the guilt that comes with long hours and time away from her family, but loves the flexibility that comes with working for herself.

She advises anyone thinking of starting a business to figure out their “why” and go back to that whenever they feel as if they are getting off track or struggling.
 
Elyse loves being a member of MOB NW for both the support she receives as well as the opportunities to be a role model to another mom managing a business and family life.
 
She’s interested in working with home owners and buyers in the SE Portland as well as anyone who is interested in skin care or cosmetics.
