What Does #MOBlife mean?

There is nothing quite like being a mom and running a business. Juggling all the demands that come from mom life and business life while keeping it all together.

Sometimes it can feel like burning a candle at both ends while twirling a baton and walking a tightrope all at the same time.

Stress? Sure.
Overwhelm? Sure.
A lot of coffee? Sure.
Pride in your accomplishments at the end of the day? Absolutely.

So what is MOBlife?

You can find MOBlife at the intersection of prepping lunches while you mentally prepare for a client meeting later that day.

You can see MOBlife in action at a store where the owner’s kids are playing in the corner because childcare fell through that day.

And you can feel MOBlife when you attend a MOB Nation Meetup and see moms nursing while networking, camera’s being turned off so a MOB can deal with a quick kid issue before returning to the Meetup, and feel the support that comes from being in a space with other MOBs who understand the highs and lows of being a mom and business owner.

#MOBlife is working smarter instead of working harder.

Coffee roaster and owner of Hilton Head Island Coffee Roasters, Susannah Winters says this about what #MOBlife means to her:

“Working with consistency and discipline instead of force and intensity. Using more curiosity rather than trying to have all the answers. Using collaboration, community, and contribution instead of competition. Being creative and fostering an environment where creativity can flourish is the name of the game for me.”

#MOBlife is not having to pretend you have it together.

Artist Michelle Johnson, owner of MJ Design, says the “come as you are” aspect of the MOB is awesome.

Being a mom and running a business means you’re life may not always be Instagram worthy – and that’s ok. As MOB Nation founder and CEO, Aria Leighty often says “We want to meet you – the real you!”

Charity Joswick, owner of Magik Relocation says #MOBlife means she can be her authentic self and doesn’t have to pretend to have it all together.

#MOBlife is community.

Dr. Vivia, founder of organic and vegan Kingston 11 Candles says #MOBlife is all about being part of a community of excellence and assistance.

The MOB’s focus on collaboration over competition makes the MOB community something special. We love to see referrals, friendships, and connections blossom!

Artist Lea Tawd says that #MOBlife is working with people who understand the interruptions and hiccups that come with being a mom and a business owner.
